PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am a gameplay programmer based in Liverpool and have been working in the games industry for 5 years. Over that time I have worked on inventory and interaction systems for an unannounced AAA title as well as on a variety of general gameplay features for the multiplayer game Sea Of Thieves. I am a very motivated and outgoing person, who strives to make the games industry a more inclusive environment by participating in Diversity and Inclusion groups as well as being a Mental Health First Aider. I have excellent communication skills, and have experience working closely with other disciplines as part of a team as well as independently.

Originally hired as a Graduate Programmer after university, I have since progressed up to Junior Programmer and subsequently Intermediate Programmer. During my time at Firesprite I have worked on software used to create the digital deluxe content for a number of Sony IPs, as well as working in a co-development capacity for Rare’s Sea Of Thieves and most recently on an unannounced narrative horror IP. I have primarily worked within the Unreal Engine, and have ownership over the interaction and inventory systems for my current project. This role has involved an iterative collaboration with the design team as well as animation. I have also participated extensively in Diversity and Inclusion groups, championed accessibility and representation in my current project and a vocal advocate for mental health in the company.
